Waxing FAQ’s

Your hair should be a minimum of a quarter of an inch long – like a grain of rice! Please don’t worry if it is long, there is no such thing as “too long”!

While everyone’s pain tolerance is different, most people say it is much more manageable than they expected! Your very first appointment will be the most uncomfortable – don’t worry, I will talk you through the entire process, and make it as quick and painless as possible – it gets easier the more consistent you are with waxing!

Yes! I deeply encourage you not to feel uncomfortable coming in on your menstrual cycle. I just kindly ask that you come in prepared by wearing a tampon, and we are good to move forward as normal!

I recommend a consistency of every 4 weeks for your regular waxing appointments. This promotes slower hair growth and a consistent growth pattern moving forward!

There is simply no competition! Waxing fully removes individual hairs from their follicles, leaving you with smooth, hairless skin. Shaving only cuts hair in half at the surface of your skin, often leading to regrowth and irritation as early as the next day. Over time, waxing significantly slows the rate of hair growth, leaving you with far less maintenance, and brighter, smoother skin!

If you are using Retinol on the area we are waxing, usage must cease two weeks prior to your appointment. We will start with a wax patch test to check for skin reactions or irritation.
If you are using Accutane, usage must cease six months prior to your appointment. We will move forward with a patch test following these 6 months to check for skin reactions or irritation.

Honestly, almost everyone feels a little nervous before their first appointment, and then realize it wasn’t awkward at all! I create an extremely comfortable, personable, relaxed environment and I guide you through every single step so that you can feel at ease.

While this is often circumstantial, appointment times vary! This all depends on what services you’re receiving, how many you’re receiving, and the hair quality! I promise an efficient and timely appointment time no matter what!

Yes! It is completely safe to come in for your wax appointment while pregnant. I will make sure to keep you comfortable throughout your entire appointment! It is recommended to wait a minimum of 6 weeks postpartum to continue waxing.

PMU FAQ’s

Most clients are surprised by how comfortable the procedure is. A topical numbing agent is used throughout the appointment to help minimize discomfort, and many people describe the sensation as light scratching or pressure rather than pain. Everyone’s sensitivity is different, but client comfort is always a priority.

Initial healing typically takes about 7-14 days, during which the brows may appear darker at first before lightly flaking and softening in color. Full healing and final results can take around 4-6 weeks as the skin fully settles. A perfecting touch-up appointment is recommended (and included) at around 2 weeks post-appointment.

It’s completely normal for PMU brows to appear darker and more defined immediately following the appointment. During the healing process, the skin forms a protective layer over the pigment, which can temporarily make the brows look bold. As the brows heal and lightly flake, the color will soften and settle into a more natural appearance

Your brows will last around 1-3 years, depending on lifestyle factors such as skin type, sun exposure, skincare products, and how well aftercare instructions are followed. PMU is designed to gradually fade over time, so most clients choose to schedule a touch-up every 12-18 months to keep their brows looking fresh and defined.

For safety reasons, PMU services are typically not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. The body can respond differently during this time – increased sensitivity, changes in healing, and pigment retention. It’s best to wait until after pregnancy and breastfeeding before scheduling a PMU appointment.

Yes! The goal of PMU is to enhance your natural features, not create harsh or overly dramatic brows! Each set of brows is customized to your facial features, natural brow pattern, and personal preferences to create soft, balanced, natural-looking, elevated results!

Most people are great candidates for PMU brows, though factors such as skin type, scarring, previous brow work, medical history, lifestyle, and desired results will be discussed to determine the best technique for you.

In many cases, yes! However, it depends on the amount of existing pigment, the color and shape of the previous work, and how the brows have faded over time. A consultation is recommended so the existing tattoo can be assessed to determine whether a correction, color adjustment, or removal/lightening may be needed before new PMU brows can be performed.

Initial appointments typically take around 2.5-4 hours. This includes a consultation, brow mapping, shape approval, numbing, and the procedure itself to ensure the brows are fully customized and carefully perfected. Touch-up appointments are typically shorter and take about 1.5-2 hours.
